TRAINER Kim Anderson was starting to wonder if Hidden Rose would win again before she retired.

It had been almost two years and 15 races since the eight-year-old mare had won but the Eagle Farm-based Anderson had her question answered on Saturday when Hidden Rose won Class 5 Handicap (1200m) on a heavy track at the Gold Coast.

“There were a couple of races over the last five starts where she has had her hoof on the door,” Anderson said.

“She got held up for a run once at the Sunshine Coast and she would have won that race.

“It was getting very frustrating. I was starting to think was she ever going to win before she has to retire.”
