Preparations for Super Saturday race day in full swing

PREPARATIONS for the bumper 10-race Super Saturday meeting at Callaghan Park tomorrow are in full swing with the racing surface improving under fine skies.

QRIC stewards conducted a track inspection at 11am this morning (Friday) and the track (pictured) was rated a Heavy 8.

As Rockhampton prepares for a major flood, with the Fitzroy River expected to peak at 8.5m next Friday, the race meeting tomorrow will not be impacted.

The Rockhampton Jockey Club is advising people attending tomorrow’s race day not to leave their vehicles in the race course car parks overnight due to rising flood waters.

Gates tomorrow open at 10.30am.

Sunday’s Capricornia Yearling Sale at Rockhampton Showgrounds is also proceeding and will get underway at 11am.
