Mare returns to the track in a big way at Corbould Park
I’lltellyousoon stormed to a three-length win at Corbould Park on Sunday, in her first run in almost six months.
After some time out through injury, the five-year-old mare and $6 chance rattled to the line with Jeff Lloyd aboard, winning the NCP Bathroom Centres BenchMark 70 Handicap (1000m), ahead of Tibrogargan Miss, from the outside barrier.
“I think she’s got a lot of potential,” Toowoomba-based trainer Michael Nolan said.
I’lltellyousoon has only been in the hands of Nolan for a short while after recording some promising results in New South Wales.
“We’ve only had her for this preparation,” he said.
“She’s done everything right here and with these mares that can gallop a bit, a change of scenery sometimes is good for them too.”
He said she’s likely to stay with him at least into the near future as the owners eye Brisbane races.
