Here’s some help with recent trial runners racing at the Gold Coast today.
The following runners engaged today at the Gold Coast have recently trialled in the South East Queensland area. Below is a summary of the trial together with a comment on their chances today.
Race 3 1.51pm Crown Golden Ale QTIS 3yo Handicap 1200m.
No.3 Amata – 2nd (0.5L) 23/12 Gold Coast 1000m Class 2 trial Good (TR99)
Resuming. Jumped ok, no rush at all though settled 2nd last off the fence although on the improve 4 lengths off the lead. Widest & less than 3 lengths away cornering, urged along & tried hard however held by the winner. Show A Heart filly who certainly hit her straps late last preparation wining her final two starts before being tipped out. Drawn well & will be strong at the end. Definite claims.
Race 4 2.30pm Highgrove Bathrooms C, G & E Maiden Handicap 1200m.
No.5 Disorder – 3rd (5.8L) 6/1 Sunshine Coast 850m Maiden trial Soft (TR N/A)
First start. Jumped ok, settled a handy 4th just under 3 lengths off the pace. Similar into the straight, urged along & given a few flicks basically held ground as the winner increased his lead to the line. Sire won the Listed Brisbane Handicap back in 2001 however is yet to have any stakes success at stud. Just an even trial & has come up with an awkward gate, happy to see on this occasion unless there is some market support.
No.10 Stradavarius – 7th (7.5L) 18/11 Deagon 800m Maiden trial Dead (TR N/A)
Resuming. Jumped ok, settled back 4th last nearer the inside 5 lengths off the pace. Taken wider turn however no closer into the straight & under minimal urgings couldn’t run on (wore heavy shoes). Unplaced all 4 starts to date & the trial suggested he’ll need the run here.
Race 5 3.10pm Sunup Solar F & M Maiden Handicap 1200m.
No.3 Red Bohemia – 1st (4.5L) 6/1 Sunshine Coast 850m Maiden trial Soft (TR N/A)
First start. Jumped well, went forward to dispute lead rail. Took over soon after before dashing away 2 lengths into the straight, given a few solid cracks down to the line extended the margin to win clearly. Sire a 2 x Listed winner who is yet to produce any stakes winners at stud, dam raced 11 times without a placing. Did show ability in the trial & based on that must be included amongst the winning chances here from the good draw.
No.6 Vision Of Hope – 2nd (0.8L) 23/12 Gold Coast 1000m 2 & 3yo trial Good (TR99)
Resuming. Jumped well, settled outside the leader with a decent gap to 3rd. Cornered same, stayed on well & was pressured slightly less than the winner. Ex Pat Farrell trained NSW galloper who was unfancied in the market at her only run when raced wide without cover & was thrashed. Drawn awkwardly for her local debut however did trial soundly & should be included in multiples.
No.16e Social Delight – 4th (9.1L) 6/1 Sunshine Coast 850m Maiden trial Soft (TR N/A)
Resuming. Missed the start by a length settling down 2nd last almost 6 lengths off the pace. Ridden along into the straight & although urged solidly couldn’t make up any ground. Hasn’t been close at all 4 starts to date & the trial didn’t suggest any improvement is likely here.
No.18e Crackingthenut – 3rd (3.0L) 23/12 Gold Coast 1000m Maiden trial Good (TR93)
Resuming. Jumped ok, pushed on wide out settling outside the leader. Same turn & down to the 200m being niggled along, given a few cracks however outgunned in the run to the line. Placed 1 of 7 overall which was on debut at Beaudesert. Would need to lift significantly to figure here.
