Deagon/Sunshine Coast (Inner Track) 12/8/14
Listed below are some highlights from the above sessions, please note for full comprehensive reports on ALL barrier trial sessions held in South East Queensland please click on the Queensland Trial Review banner to your right.
Both sessions were light on for runners
Without doubt the highlight of this session was Gold Coast trainer Bruce Hill sending Spring Carnival prospect Teronado around for his first official hitout this campaign in Heat One. Wearing the heavy work shoes he was pushed along to make ground early in the straight before easing up late under the guidance of Chris Munce. He’ll derive plenty of benefit from the outing and of course will be far better suited as the distances get longer. Harold Norman’s Lucky Tom won the trial, we haven’t seen him since he led throughout to score in Listed company at Eagle Farm late May, he coasted home here & his trainer also has spring plans down south.
Sunshine Coast (Inner Track)
Premier Sunshine Coast trainer Stuart Kendrick has taken over the unenviable job of trying to extract the best out of frustrating galloper Bribie who had been with Rob Heathcote previously. Having his first outing for the new yard he ran a tidy 2nd in Heat One making up solid ground after settling down a clear last. After looming up to win he peaked inside the final 200m however considering the last 600m was clocked in 34.30 secs & he wasn’t pushed out the effort was encouraging.
Mick Mair’s The Burglar led most of the way to win Heat Three although he was pushed out over the concluding stages. Nevertheless he could be worth looking out for in a suitable Maiden as he is a half to the good local mare Queen Of The Lochs.
